How long have they been installing this specific type of system? Can they show a completed installation (in person or via video), not just product photos? What's covered if something stops working a month later?
Get the warranty and support terms in writing
A verbal promise of "we'll come back if there's an issue" isn't worth much three months later. Ask for the support terms — response time, what's covered, for how long — before you pay.
Don't pay in full before the system is tested
A staged payment (partial on installation, remainder after you've confirmed everything works, including remote access if that's part of the setup) protects you far better than paying in full upfront.
